Social networks (Facebook, Orkut, Flickr,etc) have gained a lot of popularity in the last years. They give a good idea of what the Internet might look like in the future. It is thus important to study these networks, and to understand how they evolve. The first goal of this internship is to collect data from one of these social networks, either using standard crawling engines, or using the upcoming OpenSocial Google initiative. The second goal of this internship is to use this data : first, analysis of the data can lead to exhibit interesting properties of such networks; second, the data can be used to simulate peer-to-peer networks based on social links.
